The promised integration of our payment provider WorldPay did never happen, and were were forced into using RacconPay, their own provider, which is outrageously expensive. A significant hidden cost nobody talked about with the plain objective to make more money (on our back). After year one, prices went up significantly for the same service. They give you an option to downgrade, which made the overall already poor customer support even more cynical. And support you need, as the platform is extremely fragile and unreliable with many glitches, leading to financial losses. Even though we had to raise 100 tickets over the first 2 years, we decided to give them another chance as switching a PMS is a pain. And how we regretted this decision. In year 3 only, another 100 tickets needed to be raised. System, down during check-out times, new releases that didn't work, reports which turned out wrong, prices that got randomly overwritten, till charges no coming through but instead got randomly posted to future reservations, login trouble and so and and so on. And, as the icing on the cake, once we cancelled our subscription, RoomRaccoon froze our payouts. By now, the subscription has ended, access blocked, and no payouts received. As expected, nobody is bothering to talk to us. > > We were very enthusiastic to get started, but reality hit quickly. Glitches can happen, but if they hamper your operational processes, we expect them to be solved. Customer service is non existent, and when you reach them, the last felling you get is that they care. Actually, they do not, and don't even pretend to. Unfortunately, that does not outweigh the reliability issues, bugs and lack of effective support when something goes wrong. > > **Puntos en contra**: Our biggest concern with RoomRaccoon is what happens when the system does not work. A hotel operates 24/7 and is heavily dependent on its PMS for reservations, check-ins, payments, room availability and daily operations. Unfortunately, we have experienced too many bugs and technical issues. The most frustrating part is that when something goes wrong, it is very difficult to reach someone who can actually help solve the problem. You may be able to contact support, but that does not necessarily mean you are speaking to someone who can immediately investigate or resolve a critical issue. For a hotel, this is a serious problem. Our operation does not stop when the system has an issue. Guests still arrive, payments still need to be processed and reservations still need to be managed. For business-critical software, reliable technical support should be available when it is needed most.
