Useful inventory tool

Comentarios: It's been generally good. As I've gotten more used to it, it's gotten faster to use which has made me like it better.

Puntos a favor:

I just like having an inventory system at all. I love the organization. I like being able to move all of the items in a folder to another place also, as I have mobile shelves that change locations.

Contras:

I haven't found it intuitive to add more of an existing product, especially by barcode, without ending up with duplicates. When items are stored in different places, it would be nice to have them linked to each other to tell you where the others are when you run out. If that is possible, I haven't found it.

Comentarios: I would give Sortly a 9/10, for being simple to use, and the ease it took to setup our warehouse inventory. In construction it helps us keep up with the fitting counts to ensure production keeps going.

Great Application, but pricing needs work

Comentarios: Overall we love the application and functionality. Disappointed with the pricing structure - this will likely cause us to look for replacement.

Ease of use, app-based capabilities, seamless integration between online version and app version.

Contras:

Always having to log back in on my app and the scanner at times is too touchy... would pick up other bar codes if they were in area. It should be more pointed. Also, not happy that price increased drastically after our initial offer. We were forced to have a 400% price increase... seemed like a bait and switch sales mentality.

Great product for small/medium size businesses!

Comentarios: I have used Sortly for 2+ years to manage multiple warehouses and projects. It looks like a simple warehouse solution on the surface, but is extremely powerful and a vital tool to my warehouse operation

It is fairly easy to use and our crew has a pretty quick time making it work for us

Contras:

It is very costly and we have the need to set up more permission options and do not see a way to make that happen. We will be contacting Sortly for some needed help on our end and hope it keeps working for us.

Comentarios: cannot say enough good things about sortly. we were looking for an invenotry managment system for one of our smaller locations and this hit every mark we were hoping for. The ease of customizable fields and how easy it is to setup and delete anything that is no longer needed. I wish we found it sooner. It has made out inventory much more managable and easy to identify, because of those things we have been able to streamline and organize our small space much better and we no longer lose things or find random toys that we had forgotten about. The filtering in Sortly is wonderful and I love the reports to be able to see exactly where we stand. It helps me to make a better game plan for our upcoming sales or inventory needs.

Puntos a favor:

I love that you can print the labels with whatever specifications you need. The photo option is fantastic. I like that is allows custom fields for things like expriy dates or theme names and IDs. There is so much customization within this software it is wonderful. Very easy to use. Ability to categorize items between different bins or locations.

Contras:

manual setup, but that also comes with having things so customizable. I wish it integrated with Shopify better or Stalion shipping station.

Comentarios: Overall, Sortly has completely changed and improved how I run my warehouse. Our inventory management has taken a 180 degree turn for the best. We are still working on adding everything into Sortly, which we are close, but it has made our company more successful. We used to say that the warehouse was just wasting company money, but we've finally reached the point where the warehouse is MAKING the company money, all thanks to Sortly.

It has made our inventory control so much easier, and we are having far less issues such as over assigning our products to clients versus how much we actually have available.

Contras:

The main things I don't like about Sortly are the limits of Sub-Folders and the limits of characters you are allowed to have in the text boxes.

Comentarios: Sortly have been a great addition to our IT systems and processes. We continue to learn more ways to utilize the system and so far we have not encountered any note worthy issues.

Sortly is very easy to set up and organize. It is designed well enough to continue to scale as our company grows. Not to mention the price is a fraction of other competitors.

Contras:

Honestly I do not really have a dislike. If I had to nit pick I would say the GUI is a little blah but this is not client facing and we really don't need it to look amazing, we need it to perform amazing..... It does!

Comentarios: Sortly can be everything you need it to be IF YOUR STAFF USES IT CORRECTLY. If they get lazy or cheat, Sortly can become less useful really quickly. Other systems that come with automatic scan guns, labels, inventory cycle count features, theft sensors, etc, can be more effective despite employee negligence, however those also cost way more.

Puntos a favor:

The most useful features are its mobile access, Excel exporting ability, and ease of use.

Contras:

We had to manipulate Sortly to work with our warehousing and business model. It works ok, but we order materials by project name, and in order to make Sortly track that we had to tag projects. Preferably we would sort and save items under project name and locate them in Sortly under row and bin #. However, because the items we order are large quantities we have to put 20 pallets of flooring, for example, into 20 bin locations, even though they are all just "one item description". This becomes cumbersome because Sortly only allows one location per item, so we would have to create all these folders for each item. Instead we add them by row and bin # (with no location in Sortly), then add the project name as a tag.

Comentarios: Getting all our data input was the time-consuming part, although fairly easy. We're looking forward to just maintaining the data this year, which we expect to be quick and easy.

It was easy to enter all our data, provided the level of flexibility we needed in order to capture all the asset variations, and allowed us to quickly see what our inventory was, and where it was allocated.

Having to open folders in order to see whether a change (addition or subtraction of assets) had been made.

Puntos a favor:

I like the ease of use. With over 3000 individual items in inventory, Sortly makes keeping track of inventory much easier.

Contras:

I wish that there was a more detailed notes system when changing inventory. For instance, if the purchase date is different than the input date I wish you could change that to reflect when the item was edited, rather than when it was input into the computer. I also wish you could separate the customer the part was sold to as well as an option to attach a PO number. I wish that "-" would not stop the user from finding a selected part. In my experience, vendors have sold me the same part with some part numbers containing dashing and other without. Because of this I have made duplicate items unintentionally, thus creating inventory miscounts. Lastly I wish that there was a way to sort by item part number in the same way you can for part name and date updated.

Product Tracking as a foundation for Stewardship

Comentarios: Positive, supportive, flexible and easy to use.

Allows tracking of product from production facility to end-user that supports our inventory management, but also in the foundation of one of our critical stewardship activities. Our certified distributors have access to their own inventory and sales information with a firewall across users, while overviews across distributors is critical for the administrator.

Contras:

No real issues with use. Customized report generation for individual users in isolation from overall administrative views would be a desired feature.

Comentarios: Overall I like this program a lot. As I said above: it does what needs to be done and in my opnion it gives great value for money. It's also in constant development which you can track when you login. Users can suggest features and they (may or may not) get developped. A few nifty things have come out of those suggestions in the last 2 years :-)

Puntos a favor:

I searched high and low for a program like this one. Currently we're on the "advanced plan" and this fulfills all our needs at this moment. I like the custom fields you can create. I made "location", "expires on" and "last check" because we have to uphold our ISO9001 standard. Another helpful trick is you can add pictures and "variations" of an item. For example: gloves. You can add "non sterile gloves" and sub them in size or color if you would want that. That way you don't clutter your inventory and if you type "gloves" you get them all at once. Another big one for me are the stats you can check. Which items have a high flow? Do I need to adjust stock? (You can also set alerts btw, so you don't run out of important items). Higher plans give more features off course, but for the moment Sortly does what needs to be done for us. In the near future I'm planning on using QR/barcodes for easy IN/OUT.

Contras:

At times the adjustments to stock take a few agonizing seconds to long to go through. Also using my smartphone in the stockroom is less user friendly. That's also the main reason for me to start using QR/barcodes. Not really a con but more something that's not included in my current plan is: I only have 2 seats. So only me and a collegue can adjust inventory. Upgrading just for this isn't an option so we deal with it.

Keeps track of our product inventory so we know where our item is located and how much of the item is in stock & when we need to order more.

Contras:

That you need to manually set the alarm for when the product expires. Also, when performing a search, you need to fill in exactly how it was entered initially otherwise it may not show up.

Comentarios: It has been great and has helped us be able to re-order supplies quickly and find the items we need through the different ordering websites we use. Having our techs be able to check inventory as well while running around if a huge time saver.

How easy it was to scan barcodes and look up items and then modify the items to match our products. Being able to use Tablets and personal devices to install the app to be able to check inventory.

Contras:

We do with there was a better way to add and remove items from the inventory. We are still new to using the program but wish there was a quick way to scan a barcode to have it decrease inventory by one when someone takes an item.

We struggle a bit with the mobile app and also I don´t know how to track sales. How to instead of moving to a folder that i call "sold items" i can actually press a button that says that it was sold? im asking this because i would love to have automatic reports instead of doing them by myself.
