It has proven to be a valuable asset management tool. In an environment as large as ours, it is important to be able to know not only what it currently owned and what is installed but also to know application usage. Financial resources are needlessly wasted on unused software licenses. Although agent installation is required to meter software usage, the deployment of Asset Vision was easy. It was live in less than a week. The dashboard is web based. It is easy to navigate and is very user friendly. There are a few standard reports available; however, I would prefer more additional standard reports available instead of needing to customize reports. There is a large amount of data included in the reports. Having reports with primarily data that is needed to make quick decisions is important. Once the report is customized, it can be saved so it is readily available for future report generation. Scalable's pre-sale and post-sale customer service was great. They always returned calls and were quick to respond to my questions. They handheld us during the entire configuration process. Most importantly, they assisted with customizing reports that were necessary for auditing. IT has provided us costs savings by identifying unused applications as well as reconciling license install reports. The tool is allowing the IT department to be more proactive to fix issues before users report them to the service desk. We had some challenges configuring the tool due to some internal security configurations, but the tool is fairly simple to setup and configure. We are receiving very good customer support and have the ability to work with the developers to implement changes in the product. My hat is off to the Scalable crew for building such a flexible asset manager. I appreciate the way they listen to ideas I have envisioned and bring it to life. Pros: Asset Discovery processes - There is know getting around it, if you want workstation or a server scanned there are multiple ways in getting it done. It is just going to happen. Reporting - Finally, a True Reporter that you can filter and adjust columns on the fly. Support - I deal with a lot of vendors over 20 years these guys are the best. Anywhere Access - Yes, there is something in the cloud that works. Cons: The setup is easy enough to get you out of the gate but if you want to create a data view of your own outside of the can reports there is a bit of a backend understanding you need gather first before you can dive-in. Fortunately Scalable will work with you to achieve your reporting goals. The flexibility and functionality of this product has been excellent. The technicians at Scalable were extremely helpful during our conversion and continue to assist us as we learn more about the product. Generating reports for installed software and hardware in our enterprise is generally easy once you become familiar with the product.
